I need to replace the casters on my workbench. I want the type that lock completely. The bench is very heavy, approximately 300 pounds empty, 400 with my other stuff. Any suggestions on a quality caster?

Google casters. Several suppliers of anything you can dream of. Bigger is better. Read carefully on the different tire compositions. Poly, iron, rubber, wood... Each has it's advantages.

Actualy, I prefer retractable casters so the feet can sit hard on the floor. No locks needed.

This is the only way to go if you're doing things like hand planning.

What are you suing your workbench for? My table saw station is on full locking casters (steel hub with poly wheels) and it stays put when running large slabs through, but I’m not sure I’d trust the wheels keeping it from moving while using hand tools like others have mentioned.

Do a google search on: foot-operated heavy duty leveling caster
There are a lot of good and bad options out there.
