Finally completed 4 sets of tables for a friend. This was a nice simple project for this beginner and I enjoyed the process.

Great looking tables John. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Did you say you were a beginner? Your work doesn't look like a beginner at all. How did you join the legs to the aprons around the top?

The aprons were joined to the legs using biscuits. I used 8/4 poplar for the legs, poplar for the aprons, and birch ply for the tops. Someone had mentioned it looked like a "table farm". I agree and I am certainly happy these were picked up tonight and I can now move on to something else.

John,
Sharp looking tables! Could you tell me what your finishing process consists of? I've never seen poplar come out looking like that. I like it!

Regarding the finish - I wish I could say it was expertise, but that's not the case - lhad ots of luck on this one. I did use a wood conditioner and then regular Ispwich Pine stain with couple of coats of Polycrylic finish.

I wasn't so lucky with my last poplar project, but for whatever reason this one stained differently.
