I have acquired quite a few tools in the last several months and want to start cleaning them up for use or sale. For rust removal I will use a mix of Evaporust and Electrolysis. The supply question comes about due to the number of tools that need flattening. I checked the box I've been storing these is and there are 20 chisels, 10 planes with blades from block to #7, and a couple of handled scrapers. I have done the occasional plane or chisel with sandpaper on glass in the past, but this volume of work has me wondering if there are faster and/or more economical ways to get through this than sandpaper on glass.

So, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

If you are very careful to avoid rocking, overheating, and keep the iron absolutely flat you can use a stationary belt sander to remove the bulk of uneven metal. 60 or 80 grit belts work well for this. Follow up with your usual honing on diamond or carborundum stones.
