I have a generic 7 1/2 inch blade on my circular saw and need to upgrade and need suggestions. I will use it mainly for ripping large stock down to manageable:saw: size. I don't know what to get and would appreciate any and all suggestions. thanks.
I use Freud blades on my stationary machines and have been quite pleased. Last year I was wandering in Home Depot and the tool manager pointed out that 3 packs of DeWalt circular saw blades were on sale. Being unable to resist a bargain I picked up a pack which have held up well enough that I am still using the first one. :wsmile:
I have the 40 tooth Freud Diablo blade in my Bosch circular saw. Works good for light 'construction' use as well as finishing stuff. And if I recall properly it was a less than $20 blade. It cuts a very fine cut, almost as good as a tuned up tablesaw with a high end blade.
I recently got a Festool track saw, so I might turn the Bosch into more 'rough tool'
might be other decent blades out there at all kinds of price points but Freud blades , used properly, have never disappointed ; been using them for many years
I, too, use the DeWalt contractor pack blades for most circular saw work. Despite my best inspection, if there is a staple in a board, my saw will find it. If cutting close on a furniture grade ply panel, the Freud 40 gives a cleaner cut.
