3 1/2" tall with a 1 1/2" long needle. The name tells what they are used for. Has nothing to do with woodworking, but thought it would be fun to see if anyone can guess.

Looks like something that is used to clean something on the oil lamp. Maybe to keep some orifice clean (on the lamp!!!)

Wick pokers.
We have a winner. They are wick picks. Some oil lamps didn't have a mechanism to raise/lower the wick. Instead, there were slots in the side of the metal piece that held the wick. The wick pick was passed through the slots and wick allowing the wick to be raised/lowered.
My brother has been collecting antiques for 60+ years. He has over 300 oil lamps and has never seen a wick pick during all his travels. He recently saw a photo of some and asked if I could make him some.
It wasn't segmented turning, but they are round. Lol.

Very nice Charlie!! I was thinking along with Michael, stilettos' for sewing. I have some oil lanterns but never heard of wick pickers for picking your wick--NOTW was half right.
