My quarantine project

Just wanted to share
Hello, I'm very new to woodworking, but I wanted to share the small project that I did during stay-at-home in the spring. Yes, it has flaws all over the place, but the thing I'm most proud of is that it was the first piece I built where the only metal used are the screws that I used to mount it to the wall. I've just brought home some 4/4 poplar from a nearby lumber store, so I'm now working on ideas for a next project.

We all start somewhere. As long as you learn from it and it is functional you did great. Besides the builder is normally the worst critic.

It is cute and functional. One suggestion. Ease all edges so if someone bangs it with their hand they are not as sharp.

Great Kenny - I recall my first few projects. Some lasted awhile, some did not. These did whet my appetite for what has become a life long hobby (and occasional money making venture). I still have lots to learn, and that's what is fun - there is always more to learn; you never 'arrive'.
Keep at it!

Functional, structurally sound, dado joint - pretty good for a first project!!!
