I turned these over the past couple weekends. The Maple Bowl is 11" dia. x 5" high and the Tiny Vessel is Bradford Pear and 2-1/2" diameter and approximately 1/8" thick. The opening is 1" dia. Comments and questions welcome. Enjoy!

Way to go MM, I too like the eye appeal of the pear. Finish??
Oh, thanks Ed. The finish was simply Ack's abrasive paste followed with Ack's polishing compound. It's very similar to Hampshire Sheen if you're familiar with that product. I like them both and use them equally. They're both a friction type polish. Neither of them add any color, they just enhance the natural beauty of the wood.

What did you do about the checking (if anything) after you had finished the bowl.
I have had that happen a few times because I wanted the grain feature more than a "Truly" round (not warped) bowl...

Just wondering what you did...
