Over twenty years, this is only #7 but I am now starting to sell instead of only doing them only for gifts. I have another commission in the works and hope to continue to carve. It is very rewarding and great therapy on a rainy WNC day.
I really need to become faster at the craft ... learn some shortcuts and tricks of the trade. I thoroughly enjoy doing the carving, but if it is part of keeping a roof over my head, I need to complete one of these in 40-60 hrs. instead of 80-90.
