I'm still trying to get my head around your seventh hole or what ever you have named it, and here you come along with another beauty! I've gotten as far as slicing up a bunch of lath, but BAM, nothing! You're a true artist.

Thank's everyone! Bladeburner, it is cool to hear that you even got as far as ripping some lath. I'm hoping to post a simple pattern on the blog eventually, with some step by step. I'll keep you posted.

Let me confess...I copied your sand trap OK, but when I try to create the same depth from scratch; it looks flat. Look forward to your step by step!!!

Hey Joe, to be honest, it took me awhile to really be satisfied with the trap, but the nice thing about lathart is that it is done in pieces and if one piece doesn't work you can always scrap it and try another until the desired affect is obtained. I got a little tedious with that picture, because it was my second, and I wanted to try some different things. I have found out that I don't have to get as detailed to obtain a nice piece of artwork in the end. If you have any suggestions for other pictures, I would love to hear it. I've actually found some other golf related scenes that would work well, and be a lot easier to start with. Thanks for the interest.

Chris, that really does look great. Very unique. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

When I read your post originally I thought you said "lathe." This left me very confused until I went back saw "lath." :slap: I then looked that up on wikipedia because I've never heard of it. :slap: Very interesting, good work! :icon_thum

I would never thought of the word lath used in conjunction with a thing of beauty like your horse. All my experience with the term had been in conjunction with a bathroom remodel at my last house where it was the !@#$% lath behind the !@#$% plaster I had to remove:BangHead: Very nice work!!

Glen, it is interesting that you would mention the lath behind plaster in old houses, because it was old lath from beach front fences, or old lobster traps, that was traditional used in this type of artwork.
