Hi All....
This is a great site, Lots of great pics and tips. Here's a bit about me. My name is Dave Tomasch and I live in Candler, NC. I have recently started my own business after about 15 years in construction. I specialize in stairs, trim, built in's and fine wood work. I am trying to post a few pics of some work, but still haven't figured it out. Thanks for such a good site and I look foreward to being part of this unique community. Be safe and have fun! :rolf: I think you already have a good signature line!

Welcome Dave, looking forward to your pixs and input. Our western members recently started a Western NC woodworking group. I'm sure they will chime in shortly with invitations and info :-D

Dave welcome. You got the pictures into your album, that's the hard part. Check out the FAQs section for some good tips on posting pictures. Once you get the concept it is really easy.

BTW you have some awesome work in your album. Stairs are a whole lot harder to build that most people think.
Dave:)

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the North Carolina Woodworker's website. I do look forward to seeing photos of your work. I do a bit of trim work too, but only occasionally and only on Saturdays... and only as a volunteer.

So you're from the twin cities area (Enka / Candler)? Welcome to the site. I live in Horse Shoe and work in Asheville. There are several other Westerners here on the site and we have also just started a local woodworking group that will meet once a month. I look forward to your input here and perhaps meeting you at some point in the future.

Hi FredP,

How about you posting an introduction for yourself. We'd love to hear about you and your wooodworking interests. If you've read more than a couple of posts, you'll know that we love photos, so be sure to request a photo album.

Welcome Dave. My question is, where is your album? I do not see an album with your name, but DaveO found it. I must be brain dead again....

Hey Dave, welcome to the site from a fellow westerner! I live in Hendersonville and am part of the group trying to put together a club that meets once each month in the Asheville area (we have been meeting at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway just east of Asheville) -- we are planning to meet next on July 8th and are trying to get a program put together. Keep your eyes open for a post on the next meeting and check the calendar for that date, too. As you've already heard, we like pics on the site ("...around here, no pics -- it didn't happen..."), so be sure to request a Photo Album (under Help Desk on the Site Navigation menu) and we'll get you one set up -- then read the FAQ forum entry on Photo Galleries to learn how to upload -- glad to have you on board -- we have lots of fun and plenty of good WW info to share.

Welcome Dave! Fell free to chip in (pun intended) with ideas, wit, how-to's, and the occasional "don't do that"

Hello Dave and welcome to the group. I live over in Clyde and pass through Enka/Candler about every day on my way to Asheville. I'd really like to see some of your stair work, I'll bet it's nice. Nice stair work takes a lot of craftsmanship. As McRabbet said, we've pulled together a WNC woodworkers group and would be pleased for you to join us.

cant make em with all this rain we been gittin! ya needs lots o sunshine to properly dri a pushstick of the feline persuasion. a few cars or one big truck is sufitient to do the flatenin but plenty of sunshine for dryin is the key to sucsess! after that any old bandsaw, scroll saw or even a jigsaw will put the finnshin touches your new push stick. of coarse any old roadkill would work but possums and such just dont feel as good in the hands.
