Gee, without the KK5, you really wouldn't know the difference would you?

are there any quirks, or did it refurbish and work like a Stanley?

Works great, somebody left it in a cabinet drawer full of sawdust so the frog setting screw was rusted tight. Had to soak overnight to get it loose. Other than that it was an easy clean up.

The real difference is under the frog.

KK5 is not like the Bedrock. Only the K planes. Always look for a single K.
Then why did you say it was similar to a Bedrock?
I don't see another good part of the buy... maybe you can resell the wood for a King's ransom?!

There are K planes and KK planes. K planes are like Bedrock. KK planes are like regular Stanley-Bailey planes.

Matt saw the 4 small machinist clamps. They cleaned up like nice old used clamps and I figure they should be between $10 and $15 each.

The K's were made by Stanley and are functionally identical to the Bedrock.

The KK's were made by The Ohio Tool Company and later by Sargent.

They are fairly rare and usually priced accordingly. Great find.
