My $150 shop clock

I was using the Harvey miter gauge with the adjustable aluminum aux fence set to about 1/2" from the blade - no problem.
Needed to make a miter cut which caused the fence to move into the path of the blade.
$100 for the brake, 45 for the blade and 5 for the quartz movement.
The only body part involved was the one between the ears which failed to think the cut through 🤬

Did you hang it to find the balance point, and then apply the numbers?
Being without a Sawstop, I am also without a shop clock, although I need one sometimes (SS and clock).

Good idea! For what it’s worth, I had a similar trip right after I bought my SS, involving a brand new Ridge Carbide blade. I was able to separate the brake and blade, and there was no apparent damage to the blade. Sent it back to Ridge along w/ some other blades to be sharpened, and they returned it w/ a clean bill of health, so it’s back in the rotation.

An inexpensive weather station works well for me with an unconditioned shop.

Yes pretty much. It turned out the CG was just a bit off of a symmetrical position, so it's a little out of balance, but seems to hang fine. If it begins to shift over time, I'll epoxy a washer or two on the backside to balance out.

Joe thanks for the reminder. I have come close to doing the same on my SS. For the record I have an Alexa in my shop and she is my clock, timer, alarm clock and music source.
