Music Boxes !

The scroll saw challenge for the month is layered. These have many layers.
The first one is made from maple. The finish is spray lacquer.
The second is a horse. This was made from cherry. The finish is natural Danish oil. The figure spins as the music plays.
These were more complicated than the things I usually make. I am going to make a few more.
Of course I bought the book!

The cherub house looks very delicate. Such clean smooth lines.

The finish on the angels is clear, spray shellac.
The horse is danish oil

The angels house is 11” tall at the tip of the star and 9” wide
The horse is 9” tall and about 7 1/2” wide.
The crest or crown on the Angel house is 1/8” thick.

More Music boxes
The one with the crown on top is 9” tall. The wood is cherry. The finish is dainish oil. The hearts one is 8” tall. The wood is Red Cedar The finish is Clear Gloss Enamel in a spray can.
I also made one for Easter. Christmas is next.
