Moisture Meter Won’t Come on

Flute Maker

I have a cheap General moisture meter I purchased from Lowes years ago for approximately $20. It has worked for years. I used it 6 weeks ago and it worked fine. Now it won’t come on. I checked the batteries..They are good but I put a new one in it that I checked also but it still won’t come on. Anything simple to look at or just toss it but then what is good to replace it with?
Thanks in advance!!!

If you're sure the batteries are good you should give it a few sharp raps against a hard surface (technically known as "shock modulation").
That procedure has eliminated many electrical gremlins (usually a temporary fix). ;)

Or, just go with a new one.

If it the same model I have, you need to hold the Power button for several seconds for it to come on....
