Moderator Forum Requests

Senior moderators, you are responsible to make moderator/forum assignments. Because the following people have been doing it all along and as usual have stepped up when asked. Their requests should be honored if at all possible.

Cathy: scroll saw , turning
Clowman: Who we are, Member Announcements
Jonz: Hand Tools, Finishing
Chris99z71: Member Buy/sell, where can I find

Remember that each forum should have 2 moderators and each moderator 2 forums. Of course there will be exceptions, common sense should prevail.

Fellow Moderators:

First off, thanks for all of your continued efforts and support in maintaining NCWW as the best woodworking site on the net.

Shortly, Dave and I will be attempting to recruit additional Moderators to cover down on the forums where we have no coverage. What we would like to know is if you are happy with the current forums you are Moderating. Also, Clay and Jonz, I need you both to select an additional forum you would feel comfortable serving as the Mod for. Keep in mind that technically (IAW Papa Steve guidelines) Dave and I are not supposed to have assigned forums but to serve in a "Moderator at Large" capacity. Obviously for the near term Dave and I will continue to apply our efforts where needed. Having said that, if any of you would like to Moderate either of the two forums I am assigned to just let me know. I will move aside for you and reassign myself to an uncovered forum.

Buy and Sell Tools, etc
Member Announcements

I will serve where most needed in either of these forums, no preferences.

Thanks Clay, we will assign you to the Member's Announcements forum then. I want to hold off on the Buy and Sell type forums until we figure out the new forum organization.

Please visit your new forum and close and thread that has not been posted to in the last 30 days as well as closing any that are no longer relevant (e.g. MWTCA meeting that was held this past Saturday).

How about "Finishing"? People are probably avoiding it because it has 666 posts at the moment, but I ain't skeered.

Seriously though, anywhere I am needed is fine, I'd prefer it to be something I'm not largely ignorant of though, like carving.

I will also maintain the wood suppliers list I knocked together.

Here is an earlier thread posted by Steve awhile back. You can read through it and ask if you have any questions. I also recommend you scan the topics which have been discussed here in Mod/Admin forum in the past. There have been some pretty good discussions. Also, take a look at all the stickies Steve has been posting in this forum which has redefined how we will be doing business. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. If we don't know the answer then we will make something up for you.:lol:

I was an admin and had to bail before I even got started due to my father's health. He''s doing better so I've been able to spend more time at the forum.

But hey, I'll :slap: you just for fun anways. ;-)

Never tell a person to "search" the forums for an answer. Give the person a pointer to the proper thread or post.
