Miter saw dust improvement

Not perfect, but I live in Hillsborough, not Perfect. It is vastly better.
I cut a plenum under the saw. Sealed up the sides and back. Lower airflow is under the front. across the blade and out the back.
It still sprays a little missing the main collection port, but not that bad. Of course, I need to fit a proper 2 - 2 1/2 to 6 hose adapter and replace the duct tape with some foam, but it seems to be on the right track.

Just a square on the diagonal about 1 1/4 deep ( to clear the drawer) I suspect every saw is different.

I recently rebuilt my miter saw station in an effort to improve dust collection. Still not perfect but better than it was. I estimate I'm capturing about 85-90% now, versus the ~50% I was catching before.

Both look like a big improvement ! Thanks for the ideas. Now , if only I would bother to turn the dust collector on when I make "one quick cut".

You've given me something to think about. Mine is the standard hood type set up with sliding doors. I've since modified the doors to go full length. Its hook up to a dedicated 1HP wall mount blower.

Works very well, but you're set up is a lot simpler!
