Hi all,
Wanted to let everyone here know that we will having the 18th or so annual M-WTCA Area Q meeting here in Raleigh on Saturday, July 28. It is open to all who share an interest in antique/traditional tools and generally "old stuff." While most of what you will find at the meeting will be hand tools like planes, levels, saws, etc., and wood working oriented, there are some metal working tools as well as old powered machinery ranging from power tools to foot powered machinery. (When you get 75 or more people together selling, you get a lot of tools and related.)
The meeting is officially a Saturday event but if you come into town on Friday, you can drop by after 12 noon. On Saturday, there will be tool buying and selling, displays, a program of interest by the guys at Old Salem, an auction of tools and a good old NC pork BBQ & fried chicken lunch. We also have coffee, soft drinks, do-nuts and a lot of good fellowship and talking between those of us who enjoy old tools and machinery.
In 2006, there were over 275 people from all over attending.
Pre-registration is required.
This is a great opportunity to meet people who share an interest in antique/traditional tools, to learn and to purchase tools at a good price.
If you want more info on the meeting or M-WTCA, please contact me at hobbsed@portbridge.com. You can also visit the national M-WTCA website at www.mwtca.org for more info in general about the organization and the benefits of belonging
Thanks Ed
