A nice mesquite wood box from Ray Jones Wood Boxes in Asheville.

It has several trays with dividers for jewelry and the trays are made with box joints.

The figured lid is really beautifully done. I love the aesthetic of box joints, but I never make them myself. Thanks for posting.

I'm not working with the mesquite wood.

I bought the box from Mr. Ray Jones in Asheville. He told me that he gets a lot of his wood from Cormark International in Weaverville, NC but they aren't listing "mesquite" on their website. Woodworker's Source has 4/4 Mesquite

The box is 15"long x 9"wide x 6" tall and weighs 12 lbs. The bottom is 9 ply baltic birch plywood with 2 dovetail grooves that the drawer runners slide into. Pretty slick.

Sanding a bitch with Mesquite family woods. Hard and the waning grain patterns that look cool require alot more effort. This looks really nice.
Our version in Hawaii is Keawe (pronounced Key-Ave). Awesome wood but does take a workout to finish.
