Meet Riley Ann

I posted yesterday about turning my 1st pen and my lathe playtime being interupted by my wife complaining about contractions. I thought they were fake or braxton hicks since the due date was a few weeks away yet.

Well I was really wrong. We went to the hospital about 4pm yesterday and LeAnn had a c-section and Riley was born at 5:28 pm. She aspirated some amniotic fluid and had to spend the night in the nicu. I was really tore up for awhile as she seemed fine to me but they insisted on keeping her. I guess it's better safe than sorry. They released her to our room and gave a clean bill of health at 3:15pm. So she was there a full day or so.

Stats are: Born 5:28pm 8-11-07, 8lbs 1 oz, 20-1/2" long.

Congrats!!! She's a beauty! I hope Mom is doing well too. I bet when you look back at that pen as the years go by it will always remind you of the day Riley was born.
