IMHO this is good and we should allow if at all possible. Maybe a member donates wood or tools or finished projects we auction off or include in a future raffle. Anyway we should have a formal policy and process so we ensure it does not impact our tax status.

That is the same thing that Robb Parker did with the Shopsmith.

Tracy is correct, we did this with the Shopsmith. However, going forward it would be best if the person auctions the item off (we can help set that up) and then donates the money to NCWW. That is much cleaner for us and will go into the accounts as a donation. We can certainly add that to the next BoD agenda.

Yes let's discuss further. The way I read the request it is a bit different then the Robb Parker donation. This member is asking about a material donations to be counted in our formal donation drive and not just an off-hand donation.
