pretty bad picture, looks like it might be the motor part. not sure if the rest of the lathe is blurred and in pieces in the background

Presumably this is the leftovers after someone upgraded to a DVR (variable speed) headstock. Kind of worthless UNLESS you have a 1624 and you need a new motor for it.

I guess one could build a Franken-lathe or be interested in it for parts: motor, spindle, driven pulley, etc.

But yeah, seems a long way from ready to start turning.
