Mandrel Size

I have a Delta 1440 Iron Bed Lathe and need to order a mandrel so I can start turning pens. I do not know what size to get the 1 MT or the 2 MT.

I know that the 1460 uses a #2.

You can't stick your little finger into a #1 MT, but you can in a #2.

11/16 is generally the wide dimension on a #2 socket

I looked at used one before. It is a MT #2.
