From what I can tell we haqve quite a few lurkers on this site. And, you are welcome. There several sites I go to just to look around, but feel no need to contribute, so that is fine.

The are basically, 2 kinds of lurkers here.

The first is the person who does not join but visits regulalry. To you I say have fun, no problem.

The second type is the person who joins, but when they visit don't bother to login unless they want to post. To this group, I say please login when you visit. If you don't login the system does not know you were here, so when the automatic user prune algrithms kick in they look at the last time you visited. I you haven't been logging in, then your might get caught as an inactive user and get deleted.

To all others, don't panic these scheduled jobs are not yet running, I will provide warning and the deatils of the selection process before they go into effect.

I wondered if there wouldn't be some method for evaluating members activity. I belong to a couple of groups on MSN and I'll bet I've posted 10 times in over a year, but I log in. Except for the free patterns they aren't any fun.

I guess you figured out I'll post, huh?

I tend to find that *if* I have anything that I can contribute, someone usually beats me to it! :-(

Re: Clarification

Just in case, any pruning algrithim, I use in the near future, will have nothing to do with post count. 0 posts is ok. The only thing that will count is what Vbulletin calls Last Activity. That is the time that you logged in last or viewed any pages while already logged in. So don't worry about posts.
