I just got back from the local Lowe's store (Rocky Mount). They had a clearance of 6" S&D fittings. I got 2 - y's for $6.54 ea. , 5 - 22.5 deg ell's for $2.09 ea. I don't know about other Lowe's!:eusa_clap:eusa_danc

What they list as S&D sometimes really ain't. How's about measure the ID of a fitting to see. If it's truly 2729 stuff, the ID will be 6.25". The stuff at my Lowes they call S&D was more than 6.5" ID, as I remember.

Nicholas -- I went to my local Lowe's here in Hendersonville and they had not dropped the prices on any of the S&D fittings -- I asked the guy that covers the area (he's a retired plumber) and he said they rarely drop their prices here. Our local stock is true D-2729 as the hub ID's measure 6.25". I really need a bunch of 45's, but they are still priced at $6.97 and the 22-1/2's are $10.97! 6x6x6 wyes are $19.97. I sure wish I could get to your store, but it is over 300 miles from here!

Going to Rocky Mount won't help they all sold out. I got the last of the stock on the shelf.

I think most BORG managers are given some latitude on reducing prices for slow moving or cloesout items. Several of them here around CLT & the vicinity have different items on sale from store to store. One store had a bunch of 48" & 96" T12 tubes @50% off (even some HO tubes in the mix) while the others had cabinets, light fixtures, etc. It pays to check 'em out regularly. BTW, for you guys in the Union County area, we'll begetting a new HD by the end of '09 according to the local papers - and possibly 2 new traffic lights on US 74. What a tradeoff.

Would that be a BORGomeister?

It's amazing how much variation there is in pricing, selection and product quality between stores of the same chain. The Home Depot on Walnut Street in Cary is awful when it comes to plywood. The one on 54 in Apex has stuff that's actually decent. The Cary HD will honor web pricing, the Apex one won't. The Apex one carries Southern Yellow Pine, the Cary one doesn't.

The variation with Lowe's seems to be slightly lower, unless the item is on clearance. The Lowe's in Cary is great for hagglers, forget about that with the the store in Durham.

BTW, picked up six unique drawer pulls at Lowe's last night, 10 cents each. Unique as in "all different". 20 galvanized washers - 10 cents. Box of 2000 coarse drywall screws - 10 cents (marked down from $20). One lady walked off with a box of 300 Christmas light bulbs (appliance light size) for $1.
