I am new to turning and am looking for some kind of group in or around the Fayetteville, NC area. Does on exist by any chance or will I have to travel for one to a bigger city near me?

Welcome to NCWW. The nearest clubs to you are:

BUT your best bet is to contact The North Carolina Furniture School. Kent Stuart is an NCWW member. He runs the school and is an amazing turner.

Thanks for the info. Sadly, neither option is actually close to me since they are each 2 hour drives. Regardless I will look into them and see what may work out for me.

We are in Pinehurst, have a few members from Bragg if you wish to carpool. PM me if you are interested.

Look on Google under Woodturner's Guild of NC. Gives you information about it and meeting times.

Welcome,
Glad you found us.
I think you are on the right track to find a group and or a teacher.
Here is a list of AAW Chapters -

I do not see anything "Close" to Fayetteville, but as many have pointed out there are a few within an hours drive, Kinston, Raleigh etc.
