Cleaning up a saw and want to try and identify. 26" 10 PPI crosscut , taper ground, Nib, straight back

Only real clear markings are "Cast Steel" and "2" Not really sure if that is a "1" to the left of the "2"

Handle missing medallion. I have traced what I can see with a sharpie.

It may very well be a hardware store marking, but I am hoping that there is enough to ID it. Links to a saw plate logo site would be appreciated. I don't believe it is a Disston.

Hmmmm. Tough one. Is the blade marking etched, stamped or engraved? My guess is etched since there is so little left visible...

I agree, it's not a Disston.

Etched. I've been randomly searching images and threads. Proverbial needle.

I tried filling it in with gun blue and polishing back, but I did not have much success with that. i might be doing it wrong.

so, what I di was try and outline the general lines and shapes with a sharpie so I could take a photo.

That saw might have been a "private label" tool built for a company like Belknap Hardware who marketed their stuff under the "Bluegrass" label. Several other companies did also. Good luck!
