Little Wizard ll

Does anyone have any experience with the Little Wizard ll ? Or maybe a better tool for finding nails etc before planing? I have some planing …not a whole lot but enough to justify this tool if it works good enough. TIA !

An alternative that I saw, is to buy a pack of rare earth magnets, and tape them together with a string sticking out of the bundle. The idea is that when you drag the magnets over the board, you'll feel some resistance over the spots where bits of metal are.

I just bought this one a few weeks ago to use with my sawmill: 9V Metal Detector Wand

A lot of guys on the sawmill forums use this model.

I have a centech also. It works well as long as you go slow over thick wood but it has paid for itself over many times for the blades it has saved.
