I am building a book case for my Granddaughter Jordan. It is going to be constructed from Birch. I am going to stain it with two coats of General Finishes gel stain in nutmeg with 5-6 coats of General Finishes clear semi-gloss pre-cat urethane. The top will be constructed with a clear birch inset with clear walnut edging.

These are some of the rough cut parts.

Bottom shelf glued up and drying.

Glue up of bottom shelf. I could only glue up the bottom shelf and the top inset because I ran out of clamps. You can never have enough clamps.
The shelves and top inset are doweled in three places with 3/8" dowels. I guess I'm going to have to buy more clamps.:dontknow: The other shelves will have to wait until tomorrow when I free up these clamps.

Front view. Some of the parts dry fit. It's beginning to look like a book case.

Side view. Yup I think it's going to be a book case. I will post more progress pictures as I continue work.

Thanks for looking.

No I can't take credit for the design. I saw a picture and modified it to come up with this.

Thanks for looking.

Yes I have two radial arm saws. The 12" is for general use. The 10" is dedicated to dados and half lap joints.
