if you’re looking for a nice jointer, I have the 12” version and it’s a great piece of machinery. That price is just about half the new price for the 8”.

John, Can I ask you a question, is it that difficult to set the tables on this machine? I have adjusted a few "typical" jointer tables but am not familiar with Laguna tools.

Kirk - I didn’t have any issues with mine, though it did come set up already. I’m not sure what is meant by “adjust the tables” in the post. that said, I took a look at mine out in the shop and it doesn’t look like rocket science. I’ve also had good luck with Laguna support if I’ve needed it (for my 16” planer and a prior tool as well), so guess I’ve been lucky with them.

I have no experience with this model, but it looks like a typical parallelogram design.
