Now for the base
Half lap and a double mortise... seemed like the right way to do this...
Fits ok
Add more support
Add some details... turns out she didn't like the upper support arms, so we had a last minute design change! Fortunately not a big deal on a painted piece.. a little wood fill and we're done.. here is what it ended up looking like. Grammy is happy so another successful project completed!
