So, by the title, you’ll know where I live. I moved from California 3 years ago after retiring from teaching for the 3rd time. Love it here. My wife, Debbie, and my adult daughter, Michelle, love it too. Started into woodworking in the summer of 2024. Working out of a 2 car garage, that’s also used for storage. Everything is on wheels. Started turning wood in summer of 2025. Pens are fun but I’m looking forward to bowl turning soon. I’m also in the process of transforming our large basement into an apartment for my daughter. We’re leaving the plumbing and electrical to the pros.

FYI Chad at Conover lumber, pulls out the good wood that comes in for internal furniture frame work and sells it seperate at good rates. Mostly curly maple, some walnut and Ash.
Appalachian Walnut is in Lincolnton just down the road and provides a friendly service and great wood in all varieties.
