For June show us pics of your Boxes. This can be any kind of Box, Jewelry, Toy, Keepsake, Shoe, Ring, etc...

This contest will end June 28. Voting will run June 29- 30.

Rules:
- Must be created within the last 60 months. That's 5 years
- One submission per creator/artist per category (month). Pick one piece. If you have a set and want to show how it matches okay but you are only entering one piece. Hi-light that one piece.
- Members vote for winners so your submittal 'marketing' post should reflect quality. Limited to 3 photos and 500 words. One post per submittal.
- Any Q&A regarding a submittal should be handled by separate post, or DM/PM. Expect questions to be deleted. Separate posts do not clutter the contest thread, avoids vote biasing, and everyone can share How's It Made (Resources forum content).
- Each creator can win a contest no more than once every six months.
- In case of a tie, a judge panel will make the selection. Judges' decision is final. Judges will remain anonymous.
- Each monthly contest will have two winners, novice and experienced/journeyman/veteran/pro. Novice is defined as <3 years woodworking, cumulative. "Experienced" is all others. Submitters must indicate if they are novice; honor system applies. If you don't declare, you're an experienced woodworker.

Humidor for my son. Cedar lined sapele and book-matched flame maple.
Lock mechanism activated by sliding the bottom draw in and out to different markers while alternately turning the front emblem.
Magnets hidden beneath some of the dots on the drawer sides interact with magnets on the two horizontal arms.

This is a box I recently made of White Oak from a tree harvested form our property over a year ago. The top is plywood with Mahogany Veneer. This finger jointed box features a custom bottom insert sized specifically to hold all the parts from a Sweetheart Stanley No. 45 Combination Plane that I had picked up last summer.

Can’t believe I haven’t made a box in the last five years.
Ha,ha! Same thought. FL was generally a lost decade. So there goes most of the past 5 yrs. Then buying a new build and moving here took up about 18 months. After settling in, I picked up a small bandsaw and thought, yeah, finally can do some bandsaw boxes. But forgot about all the new house/new location stuff that had priority. Last yr picked up a lathe and finally after many decades I could try my hand at some turned boxes. Well patio room conversion sucked up most of last yr. This spring I finally got a small scroll saw setup and seen a bunch of ideas for boxes I’m anxious to try. Now it’s paver walkways and furniture for the patio room taking my time. I think after the in progress sunroom chair, I’ll need to take a breather for a bit and just do some fun projects.
