Joniter to shop vac dust collection

Want to connect my 6" Delta Professional jointer to my Craftsman 16 gallon shop vac. Went to the BORG and to a plumbing supply house and could not find anything that would work. Looked in my industrial WWS catalog and could not find anything. Surely I am not the first to try and do this. The dimensions are kind of weird. Maybe they are nominal. Off the jointer the inside dimension is about 3 5/8" and the vac is about 2 1/4" inside. I am using the adaptor that came with the jointer.

Anyone ever done this and where did you find the required reducer.

What is the OD on the jointer? My guess is the 4" standard size and reducers abound for 4" to shop vac.

I picked up a 4" to 2 1/4" reducer at Woodcraft when I ran a line from my shopvac to the Rigid jointer. It connected directly to my Craftsman vac ok.

Have you seen or tried one of these reducers?

It may give you a few more options in terms of customizing the fit.

I think the 2 1/4 for the vac is just what I need.

The jointer OD is a full 3/8 under 4". But since I have this real knack for disengaging my brain while in the shop I decided to stop and think about it a little. I discoverd a novel concept. The OD increases as you move down toward the base. Used a string to prove this. Paused a minute and thought, why not use some of this high price stuff I have in the shop. Pulled out a caliper and what do you know the string was right.

You would think WWS would have this. It is a 2 hour round trip to Woodcraft. Think I will call WWS. I need some other stuff from them.
