This is a Gloat and an early Christmas present from my wife and kids. It is one of the tools I was desprately missinf from my shop. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave O yseterday and hanging out in his shop for a little while. I had been seriously looking at this jointer but made up my mind after seeing Dave's jointer and getting his views on it.

Congrats...having a jointer and then a planer completely changes completely changes the types of projects you can do and is cheaper in the long run because you can buy rough lumber and dimension it to your specification/desire. The addition of those machines completely changed my perception of what was possible in my home shop...and that rough lumber gets cheaper every time I use those machines. :icon_thum

Ok so I have been using my new jointer and I have to say that all the reviews were right I am really happy with it. My only problem so far has been that I went to The Big Orange Box to find an extra set of blades for it and to my surprise they don't sell them there. Can anyone suggest a place I can buy them ?

I think that you might be able to either order them through Ridgid or I believe Freud carries a knife set that will work. You might check with CharlesM about that.

I'll can vouch for that statement DaveO. Just pickin'. :)

I see that HD has an online special on those for 319.20. That's an 80 dollar
savings over regular. Probably have to pay shipping. Anyone know?

How difficult is the assembly and set-up process on those things? Sure
would like to get one. Got to make room first. :eusa_pray
