Jet Tools and Amazon

There seems to be some type of issue between amazon and jet. A few weeks ago they had a 22-44 drum sander for $180. With shipping it came out to $359. Not bad for a $1500 machine. Of course I took that deal. That order was canceled the next day and was listed at the regular price.

I was in the market for a table saw and yesterday I came across an Xactasaw for $2088 marked down from $2754. I bought it thinking it would be canceled. This afternoon I received a shipment notice and tracking number. However the price on amazon had changed to $2599.

Looks like I got lucky this time. Might be some opportunities out there if you keep your head on a swivel.

I'm not sure if it's just Jet or may happen to other manufacturers, but twice I've grabbed insane deals on Jet power tools off Amazon, and this was years ago. Once a Jet midi lathe was almost half retail locally and a disk sander that was well below retail too. I thought it was the old mark them up...mark them down, Amazon pulls, but I checked retail then ordered them.

Reminds me of the Worksharp 3000 fiasco with Home Depot some years back. Lots of folks got in on that but HD caught on and nixed the promotion after about 1 week.
