JessEm POW-R-TEK SPEED DISPLAY

I’ve got a JessEm Pow-R-Tek router (mounted in a table) with the remote speed controller. On mine at least, whenever the router is plugged in the display is on. Is this normal? It’s a pain in the patoots and I usually forget to unplug it leaving the display on sometimes overnight and I worry that it will eventually burn out.
