Japanese Samurai Warrior Portrait
I found this design online and laser cut it out of 1/4 inch material on my @toocaa_official 20w Laser Engraver.
The portrait was stained with a light shade of Minwax wood stain
This was a Christmas Gift to my buddy Sam @knighthood_creations and I wanted to do something extra by making the frame look like Bamboo.
After making the frame on my @rikon_powertools table saw and @craftsman router table, I glued it up with @thegorillagluecompany wood glue and after it dried. I sketched the design of bamboo on the frame and took it to my Scroll Saw to cut it out. I then shaped everything with my Marathon Rotary Tool and gave it a final sanding with @klingsporswoodworkingshop sandpaper.
I passed the frame to my Mom @turtle.dove.ceramics and she painted it with 2 shades of green.
The badges on each corner are are the Kanji for Samurai
After everything was assembled, I then gave it several coats of @rustoleum clear gloss for a finish.
This was a fun custom project and I was happy to make it for a great friend.
