ISO a local member with a hydraulic press

Hey all,

I’m looking for someone in the Triangle who has a hydraulic press they’d let me use to press spindle bearings on for a drill press I’m restoring. I need something with a long stroke, so an arbor press won’t work unless it’s huge. Getting these off took some creativity, but I intend to be gentler during reassembly.

I can barter for your time with beer, fermented hot sauce, or cash, if thats your thing.

An auto machine shop should have that capability.

Jon, I'm in New Hill and have a standard hydraulic shop press. It's not particularly long stroke, but if needed the bearing can be pressed part way and then the table moved and reset for additional stroke. You can send me a PM through NCWW


Are you replacing the bearings or going back with the original?
