What a sad story - doesn't it make you cringe when you see an auction for someone's dreams going down the drain? Or in this case, down to China. Someone obviously cared an awful lot about putting out the best product that they could build judging by the quality of the tools and equipment. You can't help but feel for the workers as well, who are now out of their livelihoods and wondering how to make ends meet without a job. The furniture industry in NC and the textile industry are both going the way of the dodo bird and won't be back any time soon. The departure will (and already has) bring hardship to many of our friends, family and neighbors.
I know everyone here is already well aware of this, and there is nothing that can be done about it - except to sigh a wistful so long ...
