Just wanted to drop a quick line to introduce myself. My name is David and I live in Wilmington. I am new to woodworking. I would like to become proficient in cabinet making. I made kitchen cabinets for an old house we just moved from. Currently I am trying to master the dovetail jig from rockler.

Welcome to the group! Please request a photo album and post some pictures of your cabinets, etc. You'll find us to be a friendly, knowledgeable and helpful group. We do have a saying - "no pictures - it didn't happen" Also, please add yourself to the member's map. We are having a get together on May 13th around Raleigh (place not yet finalized). It would be great if you could join us. My husband and I are both woodworker's and live on the western end of the state. There seem to be a lot of folks joining in your area, Enjoy the site and let us know if we can help you.

Hi David,

Welcome to NCWW. This place (the members) are great. This is a terrific place to learn something new and share what you already have. I'd like to point out that you have to post photos of your work... but I won't because I have done that yet either.:-?

Hey David, Welcome to the site. Please do see if you can try to make the get together. Also, if you are interested in cabinet making, One of our members is offering a class in cabinet making. Be sure you look it up. Again, Welcome

Welcome. If you already made cabinets and installed them in your old house you are probably already fairly proficient at cabinet making! But its nice that you're humble. Good luck with your jig.

Welcome to the site David. Sounds like you're being too modest about your cabinet-making skills. Great bunch of folks here always willing to share. Don't hesitate to jump in with questions/suggestions.

Welcome to the site, David. I'm sure you'll find our band of sawdust makers lots of fun and helpful, too. I'm from the mountains, but usually try to get to your area of the state at lease once a year to visit friends in Hampstead and play a little golf. Like you, I enjoy cabinet making and will be taking Woodguy1975's class at the end of April to hone my skills. Maybe see you there.

I'm dense :eusa_doh: it just dawned on me that you are another David. Awesome, we again take the ranks as the most popular first name among the membership. I never met a David I didn't like :-D
