Here are two of the four quilt block intarsia pieces I'm working on. They are not glued up so they have not been tightly aligned yet.Comments appreciated.

How do you do that? Do you cut through all the layers at once? Do you bevel the table?

Great mosaic! ! ! ! ! ! !

You are truly gifted. What were the woods - walnut and ?

And, how are you going to finish them?

Those are going to be gorgeous once you get them all glued up Cathy. Are you going to relieve all of the edges prior to gluing them together?

I will go back over all the edges and relieve them a little more. One of the two not shown is looking better with even softer edges than these had, and I had not softened the outer ring at all on these. I am just softening the edges with sandpaper.

The woods are walnut, poplar, maple and I believe ash. I cut them months ago and just finally got motivated and had all the right pieces at one house at the same time.

I did cheat a bit and cut all 4 woods at the same time. That way I knew I wouldn't have to fight to get them to fit. Remembering where to place the outer ring was interesting - I hadn't left a reference point. Also, I almost didn't find the pattern which had the number/placement listed. I was having a heck of a time trying to figure out what piece when where
I intentionally used walnut that was a little thicker than the other woods. I like the effect. I have no idea how I will finish them (sounds typical for me, huh?).

Thanks for all the nice compliments.

Insom, I misread your question. No i didn't bevel the table, just hand-softened the top edges and left the bottoms as cut. For this size of project I think that works just as well.

Cathy, that is really cool. I can't wait to see it finished up. Will that be what you're bringing to the show-n-tell at the picnic...if so, I may have to rethink my choice :-D

Thank you. Why would it change your choice? I'll probably have most of my stuff in the car - it's pretty mobile!
