I was asked to make a picture out of wood. The person texted the picture to me and asked if I could somehow make it out of wood. I asked about how big they wanted the frame. Woods used: Yellow Heart, walnut, maple, Holly (grey) Boxelder with flame, maple, red oak, and 1/8” dowels. I wood burned the numbers.
Frame size is 23 1/2 X 19 1/2. I bought the frame at Hobby Lobby. Half price.

Impressive - nicely done.
I'd like to try something like this someday, just as I aspire to make a musical instrument, and a chair, but the bar seems quite high....
oh to retire.

I really like the way that came out. I see a work of art rather than something crafted from wood.

And you once told me that you did not have the cutting skills to do intarsia. You did a wonderful job.

Self-portrait next? You know you can do it.

I saw this in person today and the pictures do not do it justice. Berta did an amazing job of wood selection and the grain of walnut of the skirt aligns beautifully.

I do appreciate the good thoughts! It’s just not my favorite thing to do. Give me a pattern with hundreds of holes any day!
