I went to see the infamous TEA HOUSE today.
And I was amazed in my openion (for whatever thats worth) it really looked like the real thing, A true work of art.
There was a Japanese lady there while I was there, I talked to her and she was really taken in with it, said it looked like it was plucked from Japan and put in the middle of NC.:icon_thum :icon_thum
The tea house was perfect, and the whole display was amazing.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap

My hats off to Mr. Dave o

Thanks Earl, I am glad that you were able to come out and see my work. Today I was looking forward mostly to seeing some of my woodworking friends come out to the show, y'all opinions mean more to me than the other people visiting the show. Thanks for all the support.
Dave:)

And here's another "Eyewitness Report"

The entire display was great. In fact IMHO it was the centerpiece of the show. LOML loved the Teahouse, but was also struck by the overall display--especially the bamboo fencing.

And since DaveO offered, I robbed the western cedar scrap pile in the back of his pickup. :eusa_shhh

Sorry I missed you and your wife Earl :crybaby2:

But thanks Dave :icon_thum

Free tickets, free wood, and got to chat with Dave and DL and the lovely Mrs DL (Kim). :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

You did? Well you can rob me anytime, I didn't notice any of it was gone. You could have helped your self to more. I guess that means more that I'll save to give to Earl :-D

It was really great to see all of you guys and your beautiful wifes. Thanks for coming out it was the highlight of my weekend.
Dave:-D

I agree with Roger(Sapwood), DaveO! Managed to walk through the entire show today and your exhibit, by far was the most impressive.:eusa_clap :eusa_clap Both my daughter and LOML were amazed that you were able to complete such a marvelous structure in such a short amount of time. I must say that the shingling job and the rafters were really what left me in awe! (That copper was really nice as well!)

Thanks so much for the heads up on the free tickets. I really enjoyed finally meeting and talking to you.

See you around,

Wayne

DaveO, you give us newbies both inspiration and hope. I can't imagine how much time was involved in planning and construction. I am sure that those pictures don't do it justice, but they sure are nice.

Thats an awesome job Dave. Now is the goal to sell this display to a potential customer? I remember you saying that you wanted to be able to move it when initially starting the project.
