Jeff: not only are ball valves the best way to go they have a HUGE benefit most folks do not realize;
ball valves ARE FULL FLOW the pass thru on a given size valve IE 1/2, 3/4 etc is the same dia as the pipe it gets attached to

Plumbing Supply Houses. Be prepared to pay for them though. I don't remember which brand (no name) that Lowes carries, but HD used to carry Brass Craft, which many supply house sold.

Hey everyone thanks for all the tips, the wife and I had a marathon copper run today - 12 hours later the kitchen is fully plumbed. I'm beat... we moved the sink, dishwasher and fridge, I know that don't sound like much but it was. We went with Brass Craft full flow quarter turn ball valves, nice...

Hope there aren't any die hard plumbers on here. If you are, I hope you're thick skinned. I always heard there weren't but 4 things you needed to know to be a plumber!

1) Hot on the left

2) Cold on the right

3) You know what flows downhill.

And the biggy......

4) Payday's Friday!!
