We had two Pin Oak trees that needed to be taken down. John wound up not being able to go to the beach with my family over Christmas. When I left, the trees looked like this:

when I came back they looked like this:

These trees were healthy, just too close to the house. They are destined to become fire wood. If any turner wants any parts of them and can come by the end of the weekend, they will probably still be available. PM if interested so we will be here.

Cathy you should probably keep a couple pieces to make a pen, bottle topper or other small items.

I hope those trees were not on the South side of the house. If so be ready to crank up the A/C next year.

the chainsaw fairy is on his way to my house today! good job on the takedown! I'm going to have some turning practice pieces soon. the logs are spoken for but there will be plenty of gum chunks for all you turners out there. I'll keep a few but there will be more than I will ever use.:widea: I'll post pics after they are down and open up the PM box to anyone who wants to get some of these.

I would venture to guess that your roof will be thanking you. I bet you get a couple extra years of shingle life now.
