In a recent post I mentioned fighting the temptation of a Oneway Multigauge. Well I lost that battle:eusa_clap:eusa_danc:icon_thum.

Big brown truck stopped by today--------and here is the proof. A small multi-gloat. Oneway multi-gauge, self centering hinge bits, and a couple new 16' tape measures (the lefty/righty and the flatback). Had to get the free shipping you know!!

Suckage called for here!

Nice score, Jerry. What are the tapes? I am trying to find a good quality 12 or 16 ft. tape. BORG stuff generally slack!

Enjoy the new tools!

Reggie, the tapes are a vinyl type material. Flexible but not flimsy. I have never had anything but the steel tapes so time will tell if they hold up well. They are listed on Hartville Tool site should you want to browse all the specs and descriptions. The tapes are easy to read and 16' is a good size for the shop, not too bulky.

Be aware though-----these tapes are imports, from China. I did not look close enough to know that before ordering, not even sure it was stated as to where they were imported from. The gauge is from Canada and the bits from the good ol' USA.

I get up every morning and look MYSELF over for a "Made in China" label!! No denying them! Yep, I really like a 16" blade, and the half inch version is fine for what I do most of. I've got a bunch of 25's but they're really bulky. Let me know how those do.

In construction everybody has to have the biggest & longest tape. When I started doing supervision I started carrying a 12' x 1/2" Stanley. One guy saw it & wanted to know if I was gonna put it back in my mama's sewing basket when I got home. LOL BTW - ConSUCKulations.

Jerry you're gonna like that Flatback tape measure. I bought one from Fastcap a while back and it is my "goto" tape now. I like the fact that it has a surface that can be written on easily, and even a thin blank area where you won't lose that pencil mark. That sure beat trying to remember whether it was 33/64 or 17/32 :eusa_doh:

Dennis,

I do understand. My 'framing tape' is now somewhat of an embarrassment at only 35' with a  11' stand-out. :crybaby2:
