Have been snooping around at all of the posts here at your site and finding a lot of very valuable info (and fun topics too!). I have enjoyed working with wood for what seems like a long time but could never seem to find the time. Retired this year and found that I was finally going to have some time on my hands for a change. At that point I decided it was time to buy some newer tools. I have to set up shop in the garage so unfortunately space is somewhat limited. My wife says that that is a good thing! My four daughters have had me hammering, sawing, drilling and routing wood for projects for the past 11 months or so. The list is still not exhausted.
Was diagnosed with tennis elbow about a month ago and was told I needed to lay off the woodworking for a while 'til it healed. Can you believe it!:-( Anyway, I'll be back at as soon after Xmas as possible.

Looking forward to keeping abreast of all of the good info at your site.

All the Best!

Welcome to the site, we are very glad to have you here. Sounds like you are very lucky to have four daughters and a wife to fill your Honey-do-list:roll:

You need to tell your doctor that he doesn't know what he's talking about...tennis elbow:eusa_thin sounds more like woodworkers elbow, otherwise he should have told you to lay off on the tennis playing:lol:  I am sure that won't keep you from typing your thoughts in the forums during your prescribed down time. Hope to see you around a bunch. Dave:)

Wayne,
Welcome and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Not to play DR but I get a similar flare up at times and have found that the brace people wear for tennis elbow helps me a bunch. It really flares up intollerably when asked to do the dishes and the brace doesn't help that at all. :eusa_whis

Welcome fellow retiree! Looks like you've found an old love for the smell of sawdust and now have the time to devote to it :) ! And with your apparent elbow injury, you'll need to buy plenty of potent power tools to ease the pain of excessive handwork  ! But, be forewarned, there is a very contagious disease that started in the western foothills -- reportedly the Hickory area -- and has spread both west to the mountains and east to the coast of NC -- it's the dreaded Woodguy Disease!!! :laughing4 :firestart ... Seriously, welcome to the site -- lots of good info from lots of good North Carolinians.

Welcome Wayne. Come post, chat, and get infected. It's a fun disease, but hard on the wallet. :icon_thum :icon_thum
