Midway is between Winston-Salem and Lexington. I just found this site while looking for ideas for my next project. I am retired and enjoy woodworking as a hobby. I started setting up a shop 5 years ago in a partial basement (as big as a one car garage) and have pretty much filled it with equipment, wood and tables. I got started in woodworking when I was 16 in my brother's carving shop. He had a small shop in Thomasville with two carving machines and all the support machines (saws, sanders.) He made furniture legs and anything carved for local furniture companies. I worked there a few years and went to school. I became a draftsman. More school and then I started teaching in Lexington. Now,30 years later I am making things for 4 grandchilden, camping and just having a good time.

I am always looking for ideas, wood, and woodworking knowledge. I hope to look at the posted albums and post pictures of my creations and my small but functional shop.

Ray, welcome aboard. I am glad you found us here at NCWW and elected to join us. I am sure you will find your time spent here both informative and enjoyable. There are a bunch of great folks here that will love to pass on ideas and answer any questions you might have. Besides just looking through all of the member albums you can create one for yourself so you can share some of your projects with us as well. Just go to the "Other Links" button at the top right of your screen and click on "Request a Photo Album" and you will have one set up before you know it.

Welcome Ray! I must ask, do you have a propensity for addiction? Well there is no 12 step program for woodworking, tool buying and not checking in here to see what's new...YET:-D but I know you'll love being with us.

Welcome to the site Ray, I know some people that taught at Lexington many many many years ago (like 20+). I believe they were originally from the Lexington area. Anyway, welcome to the site.
