I have an old desk chair I am refinishing, and there is a slit along the front of the seat that has a rubbery 1/2 " wide "moulding" to prevent the front andcorners from being dinged up. Can anyone tell me where I can find such a thing? I struck out at woodcraft. Thank you!

Is this outside or inside the fabric?

I'm not sure without a pic (hint hint!).

You might be talking about vinyl welting. Its it like a cord wrapped in plastic/rubber?

If its inside/under the fabric, it may be whats called edge roll.

Another possibility is its whats called gimp. Thats usually more a decorative edging though, less protective.

Hope that helps.

Yes, I'm an upholstery geek too.

The only problem is I don't need 5000 linear feet! :nah:

Just a long shot, but you might give Woodworkers Supply a call.

During their semi-annual back room sale, they always have a lot of t-molding for cheap. Partial rolls or returns I suppose.

They might offer to cut you a bit off for a nominal price?
