Hello everyone,
I am involved with an animal rescue group located in Stokes County called Noah's Ark Wildlife Center. They have been assisting with some relief efforts for Wilmington area wildlife rehabbers who lost their homes and ability to care for animals due to Hurricane Florence. They made two trips down to the coast and brought back 80 baby squirrels. They currently have kept 55 on top of their normal load of foster dogs and other wildlife, and are looking for assistance in building out nest boxes and hiding boxes for these animals.
You can read more about them and this particular Florence related rescue here:
http://noahsarkwildlife.org/
These are simple projects that would be perfect for kids.
Due to the amount of animals and the feeding schedule they are looking for help to build boxes, or donate materials, etc as anyone can assist. These can be made out of most any non-treated wood scraps and are not "fine woodworking".
Here are some instructions on how they are built, I can find some photos if needed for reference.
Nest Boxes:

Hiding Boxes:

They are looking for 16 nest boxes and 12 hiding boxes at the moment.
Let me know if you can help and I can assist in coordinating for them!
